Installation Instructions for Rear TrailMate Strap
Tools Required:
-
8-10mm wrench or sockets
Components Included:
-
Rear TrailMate strap
-
2x cup bushings
-
2x collar spacers
Step-by-Step Instructions:
-
Preparation:
-
Ensure your bike is on a stable surface and the engine is off.
-
For most modern European bikes: locate the rear subframe of your bike where the TrailMate strap will be installed.
-
For most Japanese bikes: locate the two rear seat bolts.
-
Using the adjustment loop, ensure that the strap is set to its longest point. Any slack once installed can be adjusted later.
-
-
Positioning the Strap:
-
Remove the two subframe or rear seat bolts depending on your bike type.
-
-
Securing the Strap:
-
Insert the factory subframe or seat bolts into the two supplied cup bushings.
-
If required, insert the collar spacers over the cup bushings to space them away from the subframe/plastics. On most subframe mounting bikes, this is not required.
-
Attach the left side of the TrailMate strap first over the seat/fender, then proceed to attach the right side.
-
Tighten the factory bolts into the subframe/seat mounting holes to your manufacturer's torque settings.
